Through Helpper, PVB/PAB budget holders and care organisations seeking help with everyday tasks such as transport, shopping, companionship, ... are connected to flexible & enthusiastic assistants from the neighbourhood.
Helpper, voted Startup of the Year 2020, is a recognised sharing economy platform that offers budget holders the opportunity to use their PVB/PAB to use a neighbour (carer, family member, ...) who has been selflessly helping with all kinds of non-care-related daily tasks for some time, as an assistant and to be reimbursed. This could include tasks such as a lift to and from the doctor, companionship, assistance with getting out of bed or help around the house.
For this, Helpper relies on the sharing economy legislation that allows private individuals ('assistants') to provide services to other private individuals ('budget holders') at a favourable tax rate of 10.7% up to €7170. Consequently, an assistant has neither volunteer, self-employed or employee status.
You may be wondering how exactly does it work then? To work together with your neighbour as a budget holder, you create a profile on our website. As a budget holder, you indicate which tasks & when you need help. Afterwards, you invite your assistant, and both of you can start working legally and with assurance. Would you like to work with your assistant via Helpper, but you are not so digitally literate? Thanks to a free offline service, you can use all Helpper's services without any problem.
With Helpper, you can also use an assistant without a neighbour and/or without a PVB/PAB for support with daily non-care-related tasks. Through the Helpper platform, you can look for screened & helpful assistants who have a heart for care & value social engagement. Helpper provides good insurance and the necessary administration so that everything is in order for VAPH.
Today, Helpper is active throughout Flanders and Brussels. And with success, because our assistants and budget holders have already worked together for no less than 1.8 million hours to support each other in daily tasks.
