BOFiP (Belgian Organisation for Fibromyalgia Patients) was born out of a deep personal need for recognition, support, and connection for everyone living with Fibromyalgia, CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and other chronic pain conditions. In a world that still too often misunderstands conditions like fibromyalgia, the idea arose to found a warm, dedicated organisation – driven by experience and conviction. Open, honest, and transparent.Today, BOFiP is powered by a small core team and a network of committed volunteer group leaders across Flanders. They are the ones who truly make a difference every single day. They bring our mission to life in practice: providing information, human warmth, understanding, and engagement at a local level. Our dream? To reach even more people with fibromyalgia and make a real difference in the lives of those who live with pain day in, day out.Fibromyalgia is much more than just a difficult word, much more than pain alone. It is a serious and mostly invisible condition, characterised by constant pain and a wide range of symptoms. To this day, the exact cause of fibromyalgia remains unknown – and precisely because of this, an effective treatment is still lacking.BOFiP wants to change that. We strive to make fibromyalgia, CFS, and other chronic pain conditions more visible, more openly discussed, and above all, emotionally recognisable. We ask for understanding and recognition, both from the general public and from professional healthcare institutions. What do we do? We connect fellow patients through local groups and meetings. We share updates on new developments and exchange personal stories of experience.
