Capido is a combination of cupid and handicap. We offer an online platform where people with physical/intellectual disabilities or autism can meet for friendship or dating.
Capido was founded in August 2016 by Erwin Oudshoorn, who was born with a genetic mutation that causes lymphatic fluid accumulation in his face. This makes him a unique appearance and harder to understand.
Erwin knows better than anyone how difficult it is to date with a disability. It always starts with a nice chat, but when exchanging a photo, he is often rejected or even directly blocked. That's why he founded Capido.
Of course, it is not that people with disabilities must date like-minded individuals, but this platform is aimed at an audience that has some understanding of each other's situation.
