The Flemish Human Rights Institute protects and promotes human rights in Flanders. We increase awareness of human rights and encourage governments and organizations to act in line with international human rights treaties. We provide frontline assistance to anyone who faces a violation of human rights. Additionally, people who report discrimination can count on mediation and, if necessary, a ruling from the Dispute Chamber. The Flemish Human Rights Institute is specifically designated as the independent institution responsible for promoting, protecting, and monitoring the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This means we pay special attention to individuals with disabilities in the execution of all our responsibilities and focus on inclusion.
